As the General Manager of Champions Retreat since 2014, Cameron’s background in golf spans the United States and his homeland of Canada. Cameron was Director of Golf at The Everglades Club in Palm Beach (2008-2014) and St. George’s Golf and Country Club in Toronto (2005-2008). Additionally, he has held Assistant Professional positions at The Country Club, Country Club of North Carolina, Pinehurst Resort, Pine Ridge Golf Club and Carman Golf and Country Club. Cameron and his wife April and their two boys currently reside in Evans.
Stacey Padgett is a certified Human Resources Professional with 30 years’ experience in the private club industry. This has provided her the opportunity to work in all areas of HR including recruiting, onboarding, training, employee relations, performance management, leadership training and development, workers compensation, benefits, and safety. She is in her 11th year at Champions Retreat. Stacey and her husband Robert reside in Riverwood Plantation and have two daughters and one son.
Fariborz Rouchi, known as Rouchi, served as the Director of Food and Beverage at Lake Shore Country Club in Chicago for the past 13 years. Rouchi's experience includes managing notable establishments such as Spago Chicago, Club Macanudo New York & Chicago, and the legendary Chicago landmark restaurant, The Pump Room. He is passionate about food and beverage and has earned the title of Certified Advanced Sommelier from the Court of Master Sommeliers. He has strong ties to Georgia, receiving his Master’s degree from Georgia Southern University and his wife is originally from the South Carolina low country, both having family in the area.
Lloyd Van Horn
As the Director of Lodging and Facilities, Lloyd has unprecedented experience in the hotel industry. With more than 25 years of experience in hotel management, Lloyd Van Horn has previously held leadership positions at the Montauk Yacht Club in Montauk, New York, The Colony Hotel in Palm Beach Florida, and most recently as Benchmark's Task Force General Manager of The Chattanooga, a luxury hotel located in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He also has extensive experience working with Ocean Reef Club and numerous Relais & Châteaux properties. Lloyd, his wife and two children live in Evans.
Golf Course Superintendent
Barry Rewis completed his degree in Golf Turf Management from Abraham Baldwin Agriculture College in Tifton, Georgia. After graduating, Barry moved to Savannah to start his career at the Landings Club where he would work his way up from Assistant Superintendent to Golf Course Superintendent with the responsibility of 36 holes. In 2008, Barry accepted an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent position just south of Charlotte, NC at The Club at Longview, a Jack Nicklaus signature design course. Shortly after, he was promoted to Golf Course Superintendent and learned a great deal of knowledge from one of his mentors, Ray Avery. Barry, his wife Anne, and two boys Tanner and Tate currently reside in South Carolina with hopes to be relocate to the Evans area soon.
Mike has over 20 years of elite, private golf club experience. A highly skilled and accomplished player, Mike’s playing resume boasts winning the Maryland State High School Individual Championship, being a member of the Ole Miss Men’s golf team, playing in 3 PGA Professional National Championships and the PGA National Assistants Championship. Mike has excelled at teaching the game of golf and takes a huge interest in his student’s successes. An attention to detail and providing the best possible member experience are a daily focus here at Champions Retreat under Mike’s leadership. Mike and his wife, Erin, and their two children live in Evans.
Kelly is a graduate of West Chester University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in Communication Studies. Her diverse background in retail, product strategy, global sourcing, events, and client relations gives her a solid foundation for collaborative strategy and attention to detail. Most recently, her role was Senior Manager of Customer Experience & Events at Augusta Sportswear. Kelly’s work extends passed the office as an advocate and board member of the PLAYS Sports Coalition and as a board member of the Augusta Sports Council. In her spare time, you can find Kelly with her two children, Kendall and Clay at a soccer field, park, hiking trail, or pool. She is also an active member of Steven’s Creek Church and a fan of live music.
Born and raised in the Philippines, Leticia came to the US and settled in California. Leticia started her career with Starwood Hotels and Resorts, Hyatt, and Marriott brands. From California, her positions in St. Augustine, FL, Telluride, CO at the Peaks Resort and Lake Arrowhead Resort further reinforced her love for southern living. When she is not at Champions Retreat, you can find her outdoors hiking and enjoying natural landscapes. She prides herself in DIY home projects with her 2 adult children in their home in Atlanta.
Our Executive Chef, David Ross, specializes in sophisticated, personalized experiences, high quality catering events, weddings and cooking demonstrations. David previously worked for the Augusta National Golf Club as a Tournament Chef and has managed to open 3 culinary colleges in the United States. He has acquired 30 years of culinary experience by co-owning 5 o’clock Bistro, serving as the Director of Education & Hospitality at Edgars Grille, and acquiring his bachelor’s degrees in Culinary Arts. David and his wife, Christine, reside in Augusta, Georgia with their daughter Sophie.
